Are Fanny Packs trendy?

Not just trendy, they are uber trendy! Usually reserved for the 'not so young' and seen as a rather sad looking tourist staple since forever, the fanny pack or bum bag as it's better known in the UK and Australia, has been getting a make-over. It started back in 2016 when designers such as Valentino showcased them on their runways and now high-end fashion houses, streetwear and activewear brands have unitedly fallen in love with the versatility of the fanny pack. It allows us to 'go hands-free', have all our gear with us so that we are ready for our next Instagram post, Snapchat or TikTok Video and let's face it, smartphones are not getting any smaller and women's pockets, if you can find them, are more often then not, tiny and unusable.

It's also worth noting that this is not just a female trend but a a unisex one and fashion forward men as well as women have adopted this style with many of them wearing it across the body instead of around the hips.

Now that the fanny pack is back in our lives and here to stay for the foreseeable future, you'll find it goes by many names including waist bag, hip bag, hip pack, belt pack or belt bag and you can opt for one from your favorite sports wear brand, luxury designer or high-street store. There is an option for all budgets out there but be prepared to splash out up to $1500 for one from Gucci or Louis Vuitton.

Once we got over the shock of the re-establishment of this 90's trend (but in a better way) we decided to add this amazing item to our Florida Mode shop and from this week you will see our first exclusive designs here.

Love to all
